Our mission is focused on improving educational opportunities, and preserving, promoting and enhancing the interests and privileges of Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-Blind citizens as a minority group and the pursuit of their economic security.

Since the establishment of the Community Centers for the Deaf, the Ohio Association of the Deaf has continued to work in the interest of Ohio's deaf, hard-of-hearing, and deaf-blind citizens. Representatives of OAD continue to participate in many capacities with various organizations, such as the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles, and telephone relay services.

To better serve Ohioans, OAD has 10 Board members and eight regional representatives who are available and willing to listen to issues which concern you!

Mission Statement:
To advocate and preserve the rights, equal access and services of all deaf and hard of hearing Ohioans, including education, economic and government without communication barriers.
